Group Declares Support For Fayose’s Continuity, Says Tiwa N’ Tiwa Remains In PDP

Professional group in Ekiti State under the aegis of Tiwa N’ Tiwa Unity Forum and an affiliate of Osoko Mass Movement (OMM), has lauded the series of achievements recorded by Gov. Ayodele Fayose in the past two years, assuring the people that only the continuity in the achievements of the governor can surely sustain development in the state.

The group said her support for the Fayose led administration and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state remains unflinching, adding that her members have not defected to any mega party and those using the slogan of the group in the mega party were warned to desist from such act.

This was contained in a statement jointly issued by the State Coordinator and Publicity Secretary of the group, Mr Charles Olusola and Comrade Adedayo Adeleke respectively over the weekend in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

Olusola, who applauded the giant strides of the Mr Governor, said the group cannot but appreciate the fact that Gov. Fayose has brought about series of developmental changes in the state, adding that only those who play politics of calumny with everything the governor does will not give credence to his leadership style.

“Ayodele Fayose that we all know remains our person and our man, meaning (Tiwa N’ Tiwa) in Yoruba paraphrase. We have waited so long to have someone of his spirit and courage. He remains the brain behind every face lifting transformation the state had recorded so far.

“As a group, the sole interest of this state matters to us and that had formed the basis why we have been working hand in hand with the sociopolitical group called Osoko Mass Movement (OMM) in promulgating the achievements of our indefatigable and ebullient leader par excellence, Gov. Ayodele Fayose.

“We are of the opinion that the good work of the Mr governor should continue beyond 2018 and that can only be possible when we all come together as a people to support and encourage him to do more, both for us in Ekiti and Nigeria at large.

“Ekiti as a developing state cannot afford to take ten steps forward and twenty steps backward all in the name of change; the change which has not only failed hopeless Nigerians at the national level since inception but had sometimes in the immediate past government of Dr Kayode Fayemi mortgaged the future of this state with unprecedented indebtedness,” Olusola said.

The group promised to continue encouraging Governor Fayose to do more in Ekiti, saying returning to the days of wicked competency test, unlawful downgrading of both primary and secondary school teachers, daily retrenchment and the likes is what the state cannot afford at this crucial time. Hence, her support for the governor remains E-stanby.

“E-Stanby is the slang. Wherever Gov. Fayose goes, we shall follow as far as Ekiti development is concerned. We should ensure the sustainability of the series of  achievements recorded under this Fayose-led administration,” Olusola advised Ekiti people.

Court Injunction: Verdict Favours Melaye, As INEC Suspends Recall Moves

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended the recall of Senator Dino Melaye.

This was in deference to an order of the Federal High Court, Abuja dated 6th July 2017 directing the “parties to maintain the status quo till the determination of the plaintiff’s motion on notice.”

The INEC press statement announcing the suspension of the recall issued today, was signed by its National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Prince Adedeji Soyebi.

The statement reads; “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) held its regular weekly meeting today and considered the order given by the Federal High Court, Abuja dated 6th July 2017 directing the “parties to maintain the status quo till the determination of the plaintiff’s motion on notice,” in respect of the suit filed by Senator Dino Melaye, seeking orders of injunction against the Commission, to stop it from acting on the petition by the registered voters of Kogi West Senatorial district.

“As a responsible, law-abiding institution, INEC will comply with the order. However, the Commission has also decided to take immediate steps to vacate the court order and for the matter to be heard and determined expeditiously. Whereas, the court adjourned hearing of the Motion on Notice to 29th September 2017, it should be noted that Section 69 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) sets a limit of 90 days from the date of the presentation of the petition (21st June, 2017) for the exercise to be completed.

“The Commission further decided to draw the attention of the Chief Justice of Nigeria to the order in view of its effect on the performance of the Commission’s constitutional duty to conduct the referendum for the recall in Kogi West Senatorial district.

“The Commission also at its meeting today, approved a policy of comprehensive audit after all elections. This is in line with its commitment of ensuring transparency and overall improvement of the electoral process.”

Adekola Rejoices With Fayose Over Makarfi’s Victory, Says Democracy Has Won

“Our democracy has finally come to stay and it has won, as the Supreme Court gave verdict in favour of the Senator Ahmed Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee. Nigerians should also rejoice because the succour to the present hardship has come,” Hon. Segun Adekola rejoiced in a phone conversation.

Adekola, The Chairman, House Committee on Youth Development and Lawmaker representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency 1 in the House of Representatives, who rejoiced with the Ekiti State Governor and Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Governors Forum, Mr Ayodele Fayose on the victory which he tagged as “condign” for the Makarfi faction of the party, said his tenure as Chairman PDP Governors Forum has undoubtedly recorded monumental victories in the history of the party.
“Today is like another June 21 in the history of sustainable democracy in Ekiti, when the anticipated victory songs and dances cannot be checkmated but rented the air. The day our democracy and good governance obviously regained freedom in Ekiti State.
“Gov. Fayose and the likes of other party faithfuls have fought a good battle to keep our party viable till this moment. As the opposition leader, Fayose’s leadership style has not given room for cowardice but has always put the ruling party on its toes to fulfil electoral promises to Nigerians since he emerged the chairman of all the PDP governors.
“I rejoice with him today and the entire members of our party, the PDP. The judgement has not only resuscitated our party to play its role as the major opposition, it has equally given us a chance to settle differences and close rank with one another to fight a common cause under the same umbrella as one big family.
“Apparently, we are rejoicing over a victory well deserved, but at the same time we should not forget that there is neither victor nor vanquished in this type of political battle. Hence, we should only rejoice that our democracy has finally come to stay, as we prepare to unseat the All Progressive Congress (APC) comes 2019,” he admonished.
The federal lawmaker said the repeat of  leadership tussle which has legitimately ended in the Supreme Court on Wednesday should not be allowed to divide the party against itself any longer, saying the major task now should be strategy on how to return to power by 2019.
He expressed strong hope and trust in the present judiciary, saying “Nigerians can now rely on our judiciary as the only hope for the hopeless.”

Cabals Regret Imposing Buhari On Nigerians -Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Presidency cabal is in a state of dilemma as to whether to bring President Muhammadu Buhari back to the country with his present state or leave him in London, adding that; “The President has become a bad business for the cabal that imposed him on Nigerians.”

Governor Fayose, who insisted that Nigerians must be told the truth about the President’s state of health, said; “I told Nigerians then that President Buhari was a black-market packaged by the APC cabal that was only interested in seizing power by whatever means and now, I have been vindicated.”
In a statement issued on Monday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor said; “For a President who has spent 113 days abroad taking care of his health out of the 191 days in 2017, it is time for Section 144 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to be invoked.”
He said “President Buhari left Nigeria for London on May 7, 2017 and today is July 10, 2017, 64 clears days since Nigerians saw their President or heard anything from him. Even the President’s handlers are keeping Nigerians in the dark.
“Even though the number of days that a president can spend outside the country is not specified in the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the makers of the laws of Nigeria envisaged this kind of situation and made provisions for how to resolve it in Section 144.
“It has therefore become pertinent that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) must invoke Section 144 of the 1999 Constitution by passing a resolution declaring that President Buhari is incapable of discharging the functions of his office.”
Governor Fayose, who insisted that he was not interested in President Buhari’s death, said freeing Nigeria from the hands of those who are presently holding the country to ransom should be the major concern of all well-meaning Nigerians.
“They are always quick to tell Nigerians that there is an Acting President in person of Prof Yemi Osinbajo and as such, no vacuum government. However, we all know the limitations of the Acting President. We know that there are so many things Prof Osinbajo cannot do and Nigerians are the ones bearing the consequences of a bedridden President.”

After Biafra, Oduduwa Republic Will Be Next -Fani-Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has claimed that Oduduwa Republic will be created 6 months after Biafra becomes a sovereign nation.

Fani-Kayode, who has been publicly supporting Biafra’s movements for secession from Nigeria, took to his Twitter page on Friday, to insist on a referendum.
He wrote: “‘Treat the surrendering Biafrans well or risk their children rising again’- Gen. Phillip Effiong, 1970. Prophetic words.
“Oduduwa Republic shall be established no more than 6 months after Biafra has been created. Then we shall be free. TIME FOR REFERENDUMS!”
Yesterday, Fani-Kayode said Nigeria should be begging Igbos for forgiveness and not threatening them.
According to Fani-Kayode, the people from the South East need to be apologized to, after “we killed 3 million Igbos in the war including 1 million children.”

Minister: I Can’t Join APC

The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen. Udoma Udo Udoma on Thursday stated that he was not a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and cannot join the party but only working for the administration.

The Minister declined his membership of APC at the National Headquarters of the party, while fielding questions from journalists.

The Minister,  who spoke to the media after a long meeting with the members of National Working Committee of APC, where he briefed them on the state of the economy, responded to the question of his membership of APC in the negative.

Asked to confirm the allegations that he said he was not a member of APC, the Ministers said, “I am a member of an APC administration but I cannot compromise my integrity by joining any political party.”

He had to ignore the response of the APC National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi to respond to the question.

Abdullahi had responded to the question on the Minister’s membership of APC by saying that the Minister was not going to respond to the question.

But the Minister ignored him and said that he was only an appointee of the party.

We are proud of him and we equally assure him of our support anytime because unto whom much is given, much is equally expected.”

Singing praises of his name and eulogising the sense of magnanimity in him, the beneficiaries in their turns maintained one ground that Hon. Adekola remains the leading honourable and the most evidently tested and trusted representative that could be looked up to, recommended and considered for greater opportunity in the nearest future.

They appraised the height of humility, honesty along transparency which they confirmed was keenly observed in him as a public figure without ego or pride, saying if others could emulate his leadership pattern which they equally equated to that of Gov. Ayodele Fayose, the electorates shall always feel the sense of belonging and have confidence in their respective representatives.

MEGA EMPOWERMENT: I’ve Decided To Emulate Fayose By Including Teachers -Segun Adekola

The three days programme organised by Hon. Segun Adekola, a member of the House of Representatives, to redeem electoral promises for the people of Ekiti South Federal Constituency 1, (Ikere, Ise/Orun and Ekiti South West Local Govt Areas of Ekiti State), which the beneficiaries also tagged “Mega Empowerment” and lauded to the sky, ended on Friday, June 30, with Peugeot 307, Motorcycles and Sewing Machines among others being given to the people.

In attendance at the grand finale were several dignitaries, Royal Fathers and the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Oguntuase.

Oguntuase, who started his opening remarks with indigenous Ekiti songs, lauded Hon. Adekola for his performances which he repeatedly described as outstanding, unprecedented, “un-APC” (No promise cancelled) and Fayose-like.

He said Adekola had truly taken after his boss, Gov. Fayose, adding that his giant strides within the last two years in the house had not only proved his loyalty to the people and his party, but has equally demonstrated honesty as the hallmark of Fayose’s government.

“As a party, we are not disappointed in Adekola. He has always set the pace for others to follow. Today’s event has attested to that with obvious evidences. You are a special breed in Osoko School of Thought,” the PDP Chairman affirmed.

Hon. Adekola, while giving his opening speech, appreciated God for His guidance and protection. He also thanked the people for their love and support, promising that he would never disappoint them.

“I thank you all for coming today. It is to bring the dividend of democracy as promised during our campaigns to your door steps. I have deliberately included our teachers in this empowerment programme to boost their morale and subscribe to the leadership pattern of our dynamic and enigmatic Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose.

“It is only when the teachers are well motivated and happy that they can be productive and resourceful to our children,” he explained.

Hon. Adekola thereafter gave cash prices to 18 teachers in 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in both Primary and Secondary Schools across his constituency.

Expressing gratitude to the honourable, one of the Sec Schl beneficiaries, Mr. Danimo Aluko from Ikere High School, Ikere-Ekiti, said Hon. Adekola has opened a new page of history in the heart of Ekiti teachers as a believer in their proficiency and importance. He wished him success in his future political endeavours.

Another beneficiary representing those from Pry Schl, one Com. Adebo Kehinde from Ilupeju Community Pry Schl, Ilawe-Ekiti, thanked the lawmaker for bringing the dividend of democracy to the classroom and promised that Ekiti Teachers shall continue to keep the standard of education high.

At a turn, Modernized Wheelchairs and Vulcanizing Machines were distributed to its beneficiaries, as the rest of the items were later scheduled to be distributed local government by local government to avert rowdy session and for security reasons.

Other items were: Peugeot 307 Cars, Motorcycles, Sewing Machines, Agricultural Spraying Machines, Hair Dryers, Gas Cookers, Grinding Machines and Block Molding Machines among others.
